Iranian actress Niki Karimi to hold photo exhibition

Popular Iranian actress Niki Karimi is to hold photo exhibition.

Popular Iranian actress and film producer Niki Karimi has set to hold a photo exhibition titled ‘Doomed Bloom’.

The third photo exhibition by Karimi is slated to be opened on February 16, 2018, at Etemad Gallery in Tehran’s Negarestan Garden.

To be held until March 6, the exhibition will showcase the photos that Karimi has taken during past two years.

The actress held her first photo exhibition titled ‘Horizons’ in 2009 where she showcased a collection of photos from her travels to several Iranian cities, including Kashan, Isfahan, Bandar Anzali, Rasht, Lahijan, Masouleh, and Lorestan Province.

Born in 1971, Karimi's interest in films and literature inspired her to become an actress at a very young age. She started acting with theater groups in elementary school until Jamshid Gorgin (the actor) discovered her talent as an actress in a school play.

Her first appearance in cinema theaters was with ‘Temptation’ in 1989, but her next performances in movies such as 'The Bride' and 'Sara' brought her national fame. She won awards at the San Sebastián Film Festival and the Nantes Film Festival for the mentioned movies.

She continued her cinematic career starring in movies made by well-known Iranian filmmakers and has won many awards nationally and internationally ever since.

In 2004, she made her first feature film 'One Night' which was shown in numerous international film festivals such as the Cannes Film Festival 2006 in the Un Certain Regards Section.

Her second feature film 'A Few Days Later' was premiered at the Rome Film Festival in 2006 and the third one, 'Final Whistle', won three awards at the Vesoul International Film Festival of Asian Cinema in France in 2010.

The celebrated Iranian actress has served as juror at several renowned film festivals, including the Berlin Film Festival and the 60th Cannes Film Festival.
